On motion of Trustee ____ and seconded by Trustee _____, the following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on- Hudson, New York with a - vote. Resolution #173-2022 WHEREAS on February 20, 2018, the Village Board of Trustees voted to enter into an agreement with Sustainable Westchester’s Community Choice Aggregation (“CCA”) program, titled Westchester Power, to enable residents and small businesses to buy electricity supply in bulk and choose renewable sources to reduce the community’s carbon footprint; and WHEREAS, on October 28, 2022, Sustainable Westchester announced that it is preparing to launch a new Solar Credit offering within the Westchester Power program; and WHEREAS, the Solar Credit offering will provide up to 10% savings on the electricity bills for eligible households and small businesses, and will be made available first to residents in participating municipalities who are enrolled in the utility’s low-income assistance programs; and WHEREAS, Sustainable Westchester is awaiting final approval from the New York State Public Service Commission to add the Solar Credit offering to the Westchester Power program; and WHEREAS, the addition of the Solar Credit offering to the Westchester Power program is expected to increase the positive impact of the program and enable broader access to benefits for residents and small businesses in Westchester County, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Trustees hereby supports the proposal to add the Solar Credit offering to the Westchester Power program and encourages the Public Service Commission to undertake whatever measures may be necessary to approve such request; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the Village Clerk is hereby directed to send copies of this resolution to Sustainable Westchester and the Public Service Commission.
