On motion of TRUSTEE ___________, seconded by TRUSTEE _____________, the following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, New York with the following vote: Resolution #180-2026 WHEREAS, the Village Board of Trustees desires to update the language in the Village Code regarding the keeping of domestic animals and farm animals on residential properties; and WHEREAS, under the direction of the Village Board, the Village Manager has worked with the Village Attorney and the Village Planner to develop language that would permit the keeping of domestic animals as pets, the keeping of farm animals under certain conditions and would prohibit the keeping of roosters and pigeons; and WHEREAS, Local Law Introductory No. 10 of 2026 has been drafted for such purposes; and WHEREAS, the Village Board has received comments back on the law from the County Planning Board, Village Planning Board and the Waterfront Advisory Committee, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Board of Trustees hereby schedules a Public Hearing to be held on September 2, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Georgianna Grant Meeting Room of the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building to consider the adoption of Local Law Introductory No. 10 of 2026, to amend Chapter 230, Zoning, of the Village Code to update the provisions regarding the keeping of domestic animals and farm animals on residential properties Dated: August 19, 2026
