VILLAGE OF CROTON-ON-HUDSON
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
LOCAL LAW INTRODUCTORY NO. 15 OF 2026
A LOCAL LAW TO AMEND CHAPTER 31 OF THE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF
CROTON-ON-HUDSON, ENTITLED “MANAGER, VILLAGE”.
Be it enacted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson as follows:
Section One. Chapter 31 of the Code of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson is hereby amended
with the addition of a new section 31-2 as follows:
§31-1. Administration of village affairs.
The administration of village affairs shall be under the direction of a Village Manager
in conformity with the provisions of the Village Law, Article 15-A, §§ 369, 370, 371,
372, 373, and 374. The Village Manager shall have and exercise such other powers
and duties as designated by local law of the Board of Trustees.
§31-2. Assistant Village Manager
A. The position of Assistant Village Manager is hereby established.
B. The Village Manager may appoint an Assistant Village Manager. The
Assistant Village Manager shall have the duties assigned by the Village
Manager.
C. During the absence or disability of the Village Manager or during a vacancy in
the office of Village Manager, the Assistant Village Manager shall serve as
Acting Village Manager to perform the duties of the Village Manager. In the
absence of an Assistant Village Manager, the Board of Trustees shall designate
any properly qualified full-time employee of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson
to serve as Acting Village Manager.
If any section, subsection, clause, phrase or other portion of this Local Law is, for any reason,
declared invalid, in whole or in part, by any court agency, commission, legislative body or other
authority of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and
independent portion. Such declaration shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
thereof, which other portions shall continue in full effect.
This local law shall take effect immediately upon filing in the office of the New York State
Secretary of State in accordance with Section 27 of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
