Holidays and Vacations - The Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics covered by this agreement will have the following holidays: September 7, 2026 Monday Labor Day September 21, 2026 Monday Yom Kippur October 12, 2026 Monday Columbus Day November 11, 2026 Wednesday Veteran's Day November 26, 2026 Thursday Thanksgiving November 27, 2026 Friday Day after Thanksgiving December 23, 2026 Wednesday Holiday December 24, 2026 Thursday Christmas Eve December 25, 2026 Friday Christmas Day December 31, 2026 Thursday Floating Holiday/New Year's Eve January 1, 2027 Friday New Year’s Day January 18, 2027 Monday MLK Day February 15, 2027 Monday President's Day February 16, 2027 Tuesday Admin/Cont./Floating Holiday/Alternate Lincaln’s b-day March 25, 2027 Thursday Holy Thursday March 26, 2027 Friday Good Friday April 22, 2027 Thursday Passover April 23, 2027 Friday Passover May 31, 2027 Monday Memorial Day June 18, 2027 Friday Juneteenth Vacations - The Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics will be allowed 22 vacation days to be used during the fiscal year in which they have been earned. Any unused vacation will be added to sick leave days. If in the event that the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics leaves the service of the district and has taken more vacation time than has been earned (1.84 days per month), then she would be responsible for reimbursing the district at a rate of 1/240" of her salary per day. Leaves: Sick Leave - The Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics shall have 18 days sick leave for the 2026-27 school year. Additional sick leave without loss of pay may be granted at the discretion of the Board of Education. Family Illness - In case of illness in the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics’ immediate family, absence to a maximum of three days per year shall be allowed without loss of pay or sick leave. Any days absent beyond three days, under this provision, will be deducted from the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics’ sick leave. Immediate family is defined as children of the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics, parent, husband or wife, brother or sister, other relative residing in the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics’ household or permanent member of her household. Additional family illness leave, without loss of pay, may be granted at the discretion of the Board of Education upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools. Personal Leave - Leave time not to exceed five (5) days of leave per year shall be granted without loss of pay subject to the approval of the Superintendent of Schools. Such leave is intended for: 1. Court appearance or signing legal documents. 2. Personal or family business. 3. Graduation or transporting children to college. 4. Marriage. 5. Appointment with a doctor for the employee or member of her immediate family. 6. Reiigious Observance. Any unused personal days will be added to sick leave days at the end of the school year, Condolence Leave - Leaves without salary deductions for death in the immediate family will be five (5) days, and in extenuating circumstances, may be extended at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools. Immediate family will be defined as the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics’ child, parent, spouse, sister, brother, parent-in-law, or any other permanent member of the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics’ household. A broader definition of “immediate family” may be requested by the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics and accepted by the Superintendent of Schools if he/she feels that is justified in the circumstances. Leave without salary deduction not to exceed three (3) days will be granted to the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics whose absence is caused by the death of a relative other than the immediate family: an aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, or grandparent. In extenuating circumstances, the period may be extended with the approval of the Superintendent of Schools. Public Obligation - If the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics is summoned to jury duty, she shall immediately notify the Superintendent of Schools. Leave shall be granted without loss of pay or leave time. The Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics shall pay over to the Board all remuneration received for such service except actual expenses. Court appearances and other public duties related to school shall be granted without loss of pay or leave time, Professional Leave - Leave shall be granted without loss of pay or leave time for attendance at approved professional meetings, conferences, and workshops approved by the Superintendent of Schools or her designee for professional development. Non-Compensable Leave - The Board of Education may authorize additional variations of administrative leave if, in its opinion, such variation is warranted. Emergency Closing Days - At the discretion of the Superintendent, you may be asked to make up excess Emergency Closing Days. Benefits - The district agrees to pay the sum, not to exceed $1,000.00 per school year, toward payment of professional association dues. Tax Sheltered Annuities - The Croton-Harmon School District uses OMNI to administer the tax sheltered annuities. The district reserves the right to jimit the number of eligible companies to which the staff member can make contributions and will make every effort to maintain the current list of eligible accounts. Travel Reimbursement - The district will reimburse the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics for approved conference expenses including registration fees, public transportation, meals, lodging, and other necessary expenses related to district travel in accordance with Board policy. She will receive the sum of $225 per month in lieu of being reimbursed at a mileage rate for personal use of her own vehicle on district business. The Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics must provide documentation of her reimbursable mileage by December 1* of the fiscal year to the Business Office if she elects to have the mileage reimbursement paid through Accounts Payable rather than as part of her salary. Personal Working Conditions - The Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics shall have the right to review the contents of her personnel file in the District Office upon request. Material descriptive of the Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics’ conduct, service character or personality shall not be placed in her personnel file unless the Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics has had an opportunity to review the material. The Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics shall acknowledge that she has had the opportunity to review such materials by affixing her signature to the copy to be filed with the express understanding that such signature in no way indicates agreement with the contents thereof. The Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics will also have the right to submit a written statement with respect to such material, and such statement shall be reviewed with the Superintendent of Schools and attached to the Director of Health, Wellness, Physica! Education & Athletics’ file. Graduate credits and in-service credits earned shall be listed and updated periodically. Salary - The salary of the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics for the 2026-2027 school year will be prorated to $182,875. Legal Counsel - In addition to those rights provided by law, the Board agrees to provide legal counsel and to indemnify the Interim Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics against all uninsured financial loss arising out of any claim, demand, suit, or judgment by reason of alleged negligence or other conduct resulting in bodily or other injury to any person, or damage to the property of any person committed while the Director of Health, Weliness, Physical Education & Athletics is acting in the performance of her duties within the scope of her employment, or under the direction of the Board, consistent with and subject to the provisions of Board Policy 9110. This obligation shall supplement and be in addition to any rights which the Director of Health, Wellness, Physical Education & Athletics may have arising under the laws of the State of New York including, but not limited to, Education Law 3023, 3028, 3811, 3813, and Article 18 of the Public Officers Law.
