RESOLVED: That the Board of Education of the Croton-Harmon UFSD hereby waives the requirement of Policy 6700 for advance approval regarding this specific transaction due to the time-sensitive financial nature of the agreement, and hereby ratifies and approves the contract with Direct Energy signed on January 16, 2026.
WHEREAS, the District had the immediate opportunity to enter into a contract with Direct Energy for natural gas at a rate lower than the current utility provider; and
WHEREAS, execution of said contract was required immediately to satisfy the ten (10) business day notice requirement to cancel the existing service prior to February 1, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Board Policy 6700 generally requires advance approval for contracts exceeding $20,000; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Education wishes to secure these cost savings for the District despite the inability to convene a meeting prior to the signing deadline;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby waives the requirement of Policy 6700 for advance approval regarding this specific transaction due to the time-sensitive financial nature of the agreement, and hereby ratifies and approves the contract with Direct Energy signed on [Date Signed].
