. To the Honourable Grorcr Ciarke Esq Lieutt Gouverneur of the Province of New York &c.
May it please your Honour.
In obedience to your Honour's Order in Council, of the 5th of the last month referring to me the following Queries from the Lords of Trade & Plantations viz--
No. 1. "What is the Scituation of the Province under your cy Se " Government, The Nature of the Country, Soil, & Leds of Frade and ¢ Climate--The Latitude & Longitude of the most Plant:
"considerable places in it, or the neighbouring
"French or Spanish Settlements? Have those Latitudes and "Longitudes been settled by good Observations; or only by "common Computations, and fort whence are the ae computed 2
No. 2. " What are the reputed Boundaries and are any parts "thereof disputed: what parts & by whom ?"
- Tshall, that Answer may be made thereto, mention such particulars as occur to me, from my own knowledge; or the Credible Information of others, on the Subject Matter of their Lordp® Queries, & Class them in the same order observ'd in the Queries.
