The Couneil having under their Consideration the Petitions of sundry Persons for certain Tracts of Land on the West side of Connecticut River, which have heretofore been granted in Townships by the Government of New Iampshire under the Great Seal of that Province ; and conceiving it' improper to proceed on 'such Petitions until one or more of the principal Proprietors in each Township, duly authorized by the Rest shall appear and produce such Powers from the other' Proprietors, and 'answer''to such 'Questions relative to the Lands so granted, as shall be demanded of them by this Board.
