The undersigned Resident Minister of iSweden finds himself, by special instructions, obliged to represent hereby to your High Mightinesses that the Commander in New Netherland for the West India Company of this country had, this last summer, attacked the Swedish Company occupying the South river of Florida most unexpectedly and with force of arms, seized on its forts, drove out the inhabitants, and thus wholly dispossessed the Swedish Company of its districts. 'Tis true and beyond dispute that the said Swedish Company hath acquired the lands they occupied on the aforesaid South river optima titulo juris and bought them from the Indians themselves as the right owners thereof, and accordingly have had peaceable possession of said lands for many years past, without the West India Company of this country having put forth, or even lawfully had any claim to it.
