In Consequence of a Letter received from the Commissioners at Poughkeepsie respecting the Rangers Ordered that the said Company of Rangers be discharged and that Captain John Ryley be served with a Copy of this Resolution -- Benjamin Morrison was apprehended as a Suspicious Person and we having examined him and finding from a Paper in his Possession that he holds a Correspondence with the Enemy, and that he in the State [107] of Connecticut has always borne the Character of a disaffected Character Ordered that he be closely confined and that a Mittimus be made out to the Sheriff to take him into his Custody -- Peter Van Schaack and John Thurman appeared before the Board according to the Citation served on them and being tendered the Oath prescribed by the Act they both refused -- Peter Vosburgh, Lowrence Goes William Rea and Harman Pruyn also appeared before the Board and were tendered the Oath which they requested Time to consider of till next Tuesday Morning which was granted them and Ordered that their Non Attendance at that Time be construed into a Refusal to take the Oath -- Then Adjourned till 9 OClock -- Monday Morning -- The original voucher is in Revolutionary Manuscripts, vol. 40, p. 164, State Comptroller's office.
