Received a Letter from Lieu' Col! William Butler dated 5' h Schoharie 1 September 1778 wherein he requests us to release from his Confinement John Service on Account of the helpless Situation of his Mother the Widow Service, which Letter is in the Words following, to wit, (prout) In Consequence of the above Letter John Service was brought before the Board and after being examined he was discharged from Prison on his entering into Recognizance with a sufficient Surety for his future good Behaviour and Monthly Appearance -- John Service on Recognizance in.. £100 --o-- Jacob Creef of Johnstown his Bail also in £100 --o-- Ordered that a Letter be wrote to Michael Van Der Cooke requesting him to inform us as soon as possible whether
