Novr. 23d. Isaac Davies: "A very considerable number of young men from about Stanwich and Horseneck went below, some of whom had been in the Ame- -rican service. This was mostly in the middle and towards the end of the war. Schools at this time were neglected and for the most part shut up. Captain Frink was from somewhere east of this. He was an active, enterprising officer and made excursions a number of times through the county between Horseneck and Round Hill and East beyond Stanwich The inhabitants here did not receive protection from Colonel Delancey, or at least they did not as far as I know?
