Septr. 10. Capt. Ebr. Disbrow: I still think that Arnold attacked the British at the north end of Compo Hill and Lamb on the east side with his artillery planted on the opposite ridge. There is and was a road on the banks of N Creek between it and the said Ridge along which Arnold probably advanced with his cannon. The British on Compo Hill, I suppose, fronted whenever they were attacked. There was a slight depression between where we now are on my ground and the part of the hill near the barn where the British drew up. - Compo Hill a mile long and more than a quarter of a mile broad. - and is steepest on the north and east sides. -
