October 10th Called also upon Myron Beardsly, Dentist, corner of 6th Ave. and West 13th St., who informed me that General N. Montross boarded with Mrs. Hyatt in Christopher Street, two doors east of Simson's bakery, but that he spent most of his time with him (Mr. Beardsly) - that he was at present absent in the country, but would be back in a few days, &c. Called also upon Mrs. Caroline F. Lewis of Broadway, and found that she had for sometime been absent at the west along with Mr. L. and Mr. Henry Young, &c. Called upon Dr. John B. Stevenson at No. 15 Harrison Street. He was from home. Saw his mother Mrs. Maxwell, and her daughter, &c.

1850 October 15th Went with Horace C. to White Plains - Called on Mr. Putney, Mr. E. Horton, Mr. Backer, Mr. John Horton, Mr. Griffen, &c. and then to Washington Tompkins of Kensea. (?)
