[Various (1971)] While recognizing the validity of geographical centers of elaboration and dispersal, and climax periods in cultural development, I think we have unequivocal evidence for varying degrees of coexistence and interaction on time levels, encompassing centuries, among our established cultural manifestations, certain of which I have especially referred to in this paper, since my point seems not to have been sufficiently stressed in some of my prior writings, or has, in some quarters, been received with skepticism. .
