DCMNY / New-York Historical Society, Stonebridge Collection Passage 1 of 1 106 words

This black-and-white photograph shows a large military-style encampment with numerous white tents arranged in a series of clusters on a hillside. The tents are conical in shape and appear to be made of canvas. In the foreground, bare trees and bushes are visible, suggesting a rural or wilderness setting. The background features a wooded hillside with more trees and what appears to be a road or path leading to the encampment.
