Croton Aqueduct at Sing Sing Kill — F.B. Tower (1843)

Tower's plate showing the Croton Aqueduct crossing the Sing Sing Kill (creek) near present-day Ossining. The aqueduct was carried over streams and valleys on stone arches and bridges. The word 'kill' is from the Dutch for creek, a reminder that this land was once New Netherland.
