John M. McDonald interview — 1846
From the Westchester County Historical Society catalog:
James Quintard describes the location of the Battle of Norwalk, which took place on July 11, 1779. A British force under General William Tryon defeated an American force commanded by General Samuel Parsons. He also references the Fish Islands in Darien, Connecticut, to which Loyalist Captain William Frost conducted the prisoners that he took at the Middlesex Parish Church (now the First Congregational Church of Darien) on July 22, 1781.

James Quintard, Esqre.: “Tryon’s fight with Parsons was on the east side of Norwalk Creek north of the village. Fish Island becomes two islands at high tide. Frost retreated to the west or outer end of the island when pressed.
