To: The Village Board of Trustees From: Carolyn Whiting, Chair of the H.E.A.R.T. Committee Date: November 17, 2025 Subject: Year-end report to the Board of Trustees The H.E.A.R.T. Committee had another very successful year. We held three events in calendar year 2025. 1. We placed a plaque at Picture Tunnel and held an unveiling event on May 18, 2025. This event was in the 2024 – 2025 budget year. • Approximately 70 people attended. • We served coffee and Moravian Sugar Cake using Dorothy Rondthaler’s recipe. • Village Historian Marc Cheshire shared the history of the tunnel along with giving a history walk and talk at the waterfront prior to the unveiling of the plaque. 2. We honored long-time resident and supporter of the arts, Cornelia Cotton, on September 21, 2025, with a portrait donated by Loomis Mayer. A bronze like plaque was placed below the portrait. This event was in the 2025 – 2026 budget year. • Approximately 80 people attended the event. • President of the Croton Council on the Arts gave a speech about Cornelia’s contributions to the Arts community. • Food by A&S. 3. We honored 4 former Croton doctors and our two veterinary practices on October 18, 2025. This event was in the 2025 – 2026 budget year. • Approximately 75 people attended. • A flu shot clinic was hosted by Save Mor drugs. • Feeding Westchester hosted a healthy eating table. • Ossining Open Door hosted an information table. • Croton EMS provided free blood pressure readings. • Westchester National Alliance on Mental Illness hosted an information table. 4. H.E.A.R.T. has chosen the honoree for the spring of 2026 (2025-2026 budget year) and three honorees for the 2026 – 2027 budget year. Respectfully submitted Carolyn Whiting, Chair H.E.A.R.T.
