To: From: Date: February 21, 2026 Re: Recent Grant Successes Since the beginning of 2025, the Village has been successful in receiving a number of grants totaling $916,988: • Safety Training – Dept. of Public Works: Our workers compensation carrier has provided a grant to train DPW employees on operating in confined spaces ($3,500). • CREST – Sen. Harckham: The Village has received a grant towards the removal/replacement of the playground and basketball court at Dobbs Park ($100,000). • Westchester County: The county’s stormwater program has provided a grant to help fund construction of new storm drainage along Terrace Place and Brook Street ($701,000). • NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation: DEC has provided funding towards the cost of a recycling truck for DPW ($62,150). • Justice Court Assistance Program: The court received funding to help purchase a new metal detector for the courtroom ($2,442). • NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation: The Village received reimbursement towards the purchase of three zero-emission vehicles ($20,000). • Accreditation – Police Department: Our workers compensation carrier has provided a grant to revise the existing manual for the police department ($19,595). • Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee: The state reimburses the Village for certain overtime shifts in various safety campaigns ($4,800). • NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation: The Fire Department will be receiving funds to put towards the purchase of a trailer for its utility terrain vehicle ($3,500). In obtaining these grants, the Village is able to allocate its resources towards other projects and equipment without having to further raise taxes or finance purchases.
