Quarterly Report PUBLIC WORKS QUARTERLY REPORT Fiscal Year 2024/2025 Second Quarter: September 1, 2024 – November 30, 2024 Highway • Continued cleaning sanitary sewer lines and assist Duke Roots for yearly preventative maintenance • Swept 140 miles of roadway • Started the leaf removal program throughout the Village • Installed holiday decor throughout the Village • Repaired 5 catch basins • Cleaned out 30 catch basins • Weekly asphalt maintenance (potholes and water patches) • Trimmed approximately 30 trees • Removed 10 trees (including grinding leftover stumps) • Planted 21 trees Sanitation: • Collected approximately 829 tons of refuse • Weekly collection of Village co-mingled, paper and metal recycling • Collected approximately 200 tons of organic waste Building Maintenance: • Street light repairs • Began Silver Lake Renovations • Replaced various signage throughout Village • HVAC duct cleaning at Municipal Building • Shampoo rugs at Municipal Building Water Department: • Meter reading for water billing • Flushed hydrants • Maintenance to pumps and motors • Plumbing work at Senasqua Bathhouse, Silver Lake and Croton Landing for winterization • Westchester County Health Department inspection • Semi-annual lead and copper samples • Responded to 150 code 53-mark outs • Submission of monthly reports to Westchester County • Assist DPW on low staff days • Completed monthly water sampling • Replaced 32 non-working water meters • Lead service line survey • 168 appointments to determine service line material Department of Public Works Quarterly Report Parks Department: • Remove leaves from Village Parks and Playgrounds • Continued mowing of lawns/field in all Village parks • Litter removal in Village parks and fields Repair Facility: • Continued preparing all necessary vehicles and equipment for the upcoming leaf season and start prep for snow • Weekly inspection and maintenance of all police vehicles • Assist Fire Department with vehicle maintenance Capital Projects: • Excavated, installed and backfilled new concrete foundation for new EMS building • Started structural steel framing for new EMS building • Started to install new granite curbing at Gotwald Circle • Resurfaced Palmer Avenue, Michaels Lane, Nordica Drive dead end, Loconto Street in addition to Olcott Avenue and Oneida Avenue • Continued the design process for the Half Mon Bay Bridge project • Working towards approval for Cleveland resurfacing grant
