Chief Dinkler:
This project is before the Planning Board for Site Plan Approval. One of the CFD comments (see below)
was the request for a new fire hydrant at the location specified below.
The new fire hydrant will be owned and maintained by the Village and will need to be in an easement area
granted to the Village. A proposed easement line (dashed) is shown on the plans and the area in the
easement highlighted in yellow. If the yellow shaded area is not optimal for the new hydrant the easement
area could be expanded to accommodate the preferred hydrant location.
Please mark up the attached site plan with the preferred location of the new hydrant and pumper nozzle
direction and email back.
The comments from the CFD are below.
Hydrants: Yes, we would like a new hydrant,
to be located on Croton Point Ave., at the
corner between the west side of the #1
Croton Point Ave development and the
driveway opening for #1A Croton Point
Ave.
This should allow us to better position our apparatus
for any incident at #1 CPA and as you pointed out,
maybe keep the Rt.9/9A SB off-ramp open.
It also helps solve an issue that we have with both
#1A CPA and for a dry standpipe on the CPA bridge
over the MTA MNRR Harmon Yards that allows us to
supply water to certain parts of the yard without
running hose on the main line track.
