Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce Ny ginc® July 17, 2025 Amy MacNamara, Assistant to Village Manager Village of Croton on Hudson I Van Wyck Street Croton on Hudson, NY 10520 Hello Amy, The Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce, along with Chamber’s Croton Business Council, is requesting to once again conduct a Scarecrow Contest in the Village of Croton to correspond with the Blaze Event at Van Cortlandt Manor, the Village’s Fall Festival, and Oktoberfest. The contest will take place during the first week of October through the end of the month. We are writing to you for permission to hold this contest in the Village. All scarecrows will be affixed to the lampposts in the Upper Village and potentially the Harmon section if we receive enough participation. Entries by individuals, families, teams, schools, churches, clubs, organizations, and businesses are welcomed. Winner(s) will be announced via social media on Thurs. Oct. 23™, All scarecrows will be removed after Halloween by Nov. 3rd. All scarecrows will be checked in at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices River Towns Real Estate on Grand Street. We will not accept any scarecrow deemed inappropriate. All designs must be non-partisan/non-political, and secular.
