Draft minutes of the Advisory Board on the Visual Environment's virtual meeting of May 12, 2026. The VEB unanimously found the proposed corner sign, canopy and fueling-area signage acceptable for Palisades Enterprises LLC's rebranding of 336 South Riverside Ave. from Sunoco to BP, noting canopy dimensions are not changing. On the referred draft sign law, Local Law Introductory No. 07 of 2026, the board had no comments on the law itself but said all signage in and around the Village, including in parks, should get VEB review before installation, citing a sign at Croton Landing installed without review; it also suggested developing a plan to improve the appearance of 3 Municipal Place.

Virtual Meeting May 12, 2026 at 7:00pm - In Attendance: Matthew Berger, Stacey Nachtaler, Tatyana
Polyak, Maria Slippen, Jan Johnsen, Anna Giannousis, Danalys Nazario.
1. Palisades Enterprises LLC – 336 South Riverside Ave. – Branding Signage from Sunoco to BP.
It was clarified that the existing canopy dimensions are not changing and will remain the same. The
VEB unanimously agreed that the proposed design for the corner sign, canopy, and fueling area
signage was acceptable.
2. Referral from the Village Board of Trustees to review draŌ Local Law Introductory No. 07
of 2026, the EAF and the CAF to amend the provisions of Chapter 179 "Property
Maintenance" and Chapter 230 "Zoning" of the Village Code to revise the law governing
posted signs. The VEB had no comments to the Sign law. However, the VEB indicated that all
signage in and around the Village including within Village parks should be reviewed by VEB prior to
installation. The Board expressed concern that Village signs have been installed without VEB review,
citing the sign at Croton Landing as an example. The Board also expressed concern that the Planning
Board might approve signs without VEB review, and that the sign review process was unclear.
3. Not in Agenda - 3 Municipal Place. The VEB indicated that 3 Municipal place is not appealing
to the public and suggested developing a plan to improve the appearance of the area and make it more
attractive.
