An April 16, 2026 memo reporting that the Waterfront Advisory Committee, at its April 6, 2026 meeting, reviewed the Village Board's referral of draft sign law Local Law Introductory No. 7 of 2026 for consistency with the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program. After reviewing the 44 LWRP policies, the committee recommended a finding of consistency and determined that none of the policies were applicable; it found no changes necessary to the Short Environmental Assessment Form and said the proposed changes will make the sign code clearer and easier to understand.

TO: Mayor Brian Pugh and the Village Board of Trustees FROM: Chairman Simon, Waterfront Advisory Committee RE: Referral from Village Board of Trustees for a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Consistency review for Local Law Introductory No. 7 of 2026, the EAF and the CAF to amend the provisions of Chapter 179 "Property Maintenance" and Chapter 230, "Zoning", of the Village Code to revise the law governing posted signs. DATE: April 16, 2026 On Monday, April 6, 2026, the Waterfront Advisory Committee (WAC) reviewed the referral listed above for consistency with the Village’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP). Based on the Committee’s review of the 44 LWRP policies, the Waterfront Advisory Committee made a recommendation of consistency with the LWRP. The proposed changes will improve the sign code, making it clearer and easier to understand. The WAC reviewed the Coastal Assessment Form and no changes were noted. The WAC reviewed the Short Environmental Assessment Form and determined that no changes were necessary. The WAC reviewed the 44 LWRP policies and determined that none were applicable. It is for the reasons contained in this memorandum that the WAC issues its recommendation of consistency.
