On motion of TRUSTEE ---, seconded by TRUSTEE ---, the following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton- on- Hudson, New York with a - vote. Resolution #98-2026 WHEREAS, the Village’s law regarding the prior notice of defects was adopted in 1977 and has not been amended since that time; and WHEREAS, new methods of communication have developed over the past 49 years to share notices with the Village; and WHEREAS, the New York Conference of Mayors has recommended that municipalities review these sections of their municipal code to address how notices are required to be delivered; and WHEREAS, Local Law Introductory No. 8 of 2026 has been drafted for such purposes, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Board of Trustees hereby calls for a Public Hearing on June 17, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Georgianna Grant Meeting Room of the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building to consider Local Law Introductory No. 8 of 2026 to amend Chapter 197, Streets and Sidewalks, of the Village Code to update the provisions related to prior notice of defects.
