Verizon New underground telecommunicaƟons cable at Kaplan’s Pond This is a Type II acƟon under SEQRA. • A Ditch Witch (Model # 100sx) or hand digging or a combinaƟon of both will be used to install the new underground telecommunicaƟons cable. • To prevent erosion and sediment discharge into Kaplan’s Pond and Bessemer Wetland, Verizon and/or their contractor will restore the affected area to its previous condiƟon. The area will be raked following the pass with the Ditch Witch and be seeded/mulched. • Once the poles are removed from the project locaƟon, Verizon and/or their contractor will fill the holes with gravel, as well as clean compacted soil, and rake the area to grade, and seed and mulch. • All Verizon owned debris will be removed from the project area once the project is complete.
