Powers Public Relations is pleased to present this response to the Croton Community Coalition’s RFP. I believe I have the experience and professionalism to help enhance the Coalition’s visibility, presence and communications to meet its mission of substance abuse awareness, prevention and reduction in the community. Goals: Ÿ Assess and optimize visibility of Coalition among students in grades 7-12 and their parents. Ÿ Assess and increase Coalition presence in the media. Ÿ Maximize communication between Coalition and its target audiences to insure key messages are being heard. This proposal will accomplish the above goals through the following program of work performed by the consultant: Ÿ Review and assess with Coalition staff past 12 months of media coverage to determine effectiveness of public image in the media and plan 12 month media calendar. Ÿ Review and assess with Coalition staff past 12 months of events Coalition was affiliated with and determine effectiveness of such affiliations and plan 2012-13 calendar of events. Ÿ Create, conduct and tabulate an online and/or print survey of 7th - 12th grade students and their parents to gauge level of visibility of the Coalition. Ÿ Conduct interviews with top stakeholders and Coalition partners to determine level of visibility of Coalition. Ÿ Develop plan to produce three public service announcements, which will include Coalition’s key messages, to be shown on the government and education access cable channels and on the village, Coalition and school district websites to enhance the Coalition’s image in the community. Ÿ Develop plan to conduct an annual poster contest (or similar creative contest), which will include Coalition’s key messages, to be judged, selected, printed (or recorded) and posted (or distributed) at key locations in schools, government buildings, and businesses. Ÿ Develop plan to create quarterly email newsletter to enhance the Coalition’s image in the community; to be emailed to interested parties and made available on the Coalition website. Ÿ Continue to promote existing events like the Candlelight Vigil and Prescription Drug Collection Day and develop at least one “signature” event that can be held annually. Proposed Work and Time Frame for Completion February 2012 Total Hours: 18 hours Ÿ Consultant to meet with Coalition staff to assess past 12 months of media coverage and general communications strategies including social media use (2 hours) Ÿ Consultant to identify community events at which Coalition has had a presence over last 12 months and discus effectiveness (2 hours) Ÿ Consultant to interview appropriate education officials to assess Coalition’s visibility.
