Big Brothers Big Sisters has a special no cost opportunity for the town to show the community that they support a worthwhile local organization We are looking for towns and cities to join us in our efforts and become bin hosts. Hosting our clothing collection bins is a simple way to contribute to environmental waste reduction and help in this critical funding initiative. You will enjoy the gratification and pride of helping to further our mission; to provide a caring adult mentor to every child in your area who needs or wants one. Sponsoring a Big Brothers Big Sisters bin is beneficial for our cause, but also for the town and its residents. We recruit, carefully screen and train caring adults to act as mentors, match them with children, and support the relationships on an ongoing basis. Research shows that our mentoring works. Kids with a Big Brother or Big Sister show real differences in their personal and academic lives. They are: • More confident in their schoolwork performance. • Able to get along better with their families. • 52% less likely to skip school. Proceeds from clothing donations help fund our local Big Brothers Big Sisters programs. Funds raised through donations help to: • Recruit new Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers. • Cover the costs of background checks and insurance, while ensuring trained professionals match children to caring and responsible Adults. • Offer one-on-one, ongoing supervision and support for every match. • Provide cultural and social activities to enrich the opportunities for children. We dispose of any rubbish around the bins.
