Croton on Hudson N.Y. 10520 Chief of Police (914) 271-5177 Voice (914) 271-3916 Fax Mayor Pugh and Board of Trustees, Please authorize the Village Treasurer to Transfer $17,798.92 from A3189-1100 the Personnel Services P/T line into A3120-2000 Equipment Line. This year due to Covid- 19, and its resulting effect on use of the Village parks and area facilities, Park Rangers were not deployed as much as in years past. Additionally, two long time crossing guards resigned, leading to new guards being hired at lower rates of pay. In an effort to assist the Village Manager in keeping this year’s budget within the parameters that have been requested, I would like to transfer the money for purchases that normally would be requested in next year’s budget. This transfer will keep this Department from requesting the following items in our 2022-2023 budget. Iten-1: One High Security, high capacity crosscut paper shredder with a level 3 / P-4 Cross cut, with a true particle size 5/32 x 1 3/16. This shedder was selected due to the high level of security for all the sensitive and confidential information that the Police Department generates. This Department needs to account for the highest security when it comes to keeping the general public’s personal and confidential information safe, secure and properly disposed. $3,879.98 Item-2: Two 4-drawer lateral Phoenix Fire Proof filing cabinets. These will be utilized in the new front Patrol/Dispatch area. They will be used to contain current and future Arrest Folders, Sensitive Court Documents and Bail Reform Documents and Video. $4,899.00 Item-3: Three Varidesk Pro Plus 36 Elevating Desk/Work Stations. This work station allows the user to sit or stand while completing a variety of Computer-related tasks. They allow the user to stand and complete paperwork, relieve back pain and other health related issues that are sometimes created or aggravated from sitting for an extended time. $1,185.00 Item-4: One Stalker Patrol Police Radar Gun. This Department needs to start updating our current Patrol Radar Systems. Speeding is consistently this community’s biggest complaint. We have attempted to combat this complaint with a designated Patrol Traffic enforcement detail, and up to date radar equipment will assist and ensure deployment accuracy. $2,489.95 Village of Croton on Hudson Police Department 1 Van Wyck Street John H. This Department needs high quality 24Hr. seating that have a wide seating area due to the extra equipment that Officers carry on their utility belts increasing their overall circumference. These belts also weigh in excess of twenty pounds and add to the overall load placed on the chairs. $1,485.99 Item-6: One 2021 Marin Pine Mountain E-1 Electric Bicycle. I am requesting to purchase an electric bike. This bike will assist the Department with Community Policing. It will be assigned to regular patrol and can be put into use during the spring, summer and fall seasons. With an electric bike, Officers will be able to respond to a call utilizing electric assisted propulsion, short cuts, etc . This device will also assist this Department in easing our consumption of fossil fuels and cut down on carbon emissions.
