On motion of TRUSTEE____________, seconded by TRUSTEE _______, the following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, New York: Resolution #111-2022 WHEREAS, the Village of Croton-on-Hudson has been working to improve the Nordica Drive Sewage and Pump Station for a number of years; and WHEREAS, phase 1 of this project, which included installing a new electrical panel, automatic transfer switch, diesel generator for backup power, a new pump control panel and safety improvements, was completed a few years ago; and WHEREAS, the Village has been working with LynStaar Engineering to create design and bid documents for phase 2 of the project; and WHEREAS, one of the two pumps located inside the station recently failed, leading to an emergency situation; and WHEREAS, General Municipal Law Section 103(4) allows for the Board to let a contract without public bidding where necessary due to a public emergency arising out of an unforeseen occurrence or condition, WHEREAS, Superintendent of Public Works Frank Balbi has received a proposal for the cost of two new pumps and materials in the amount of $71,000; and WHEREAS, Superintendent Balbi has estimated the cost of labor to install the pumps to be $80,000, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Board hereby declares the failure of the Nordica Drive Sewage and Pump Station pump to be an emergency situation; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: the Village Manager is authorized to accept the proposal from Reiner Pump in the not-to-exceed amount of $71,000; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the Village Manager is authorized to proceed in the not-to-exceed amount of $80,000 for labor-related costs in this project; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the funding for such project is available in the following capital line: H8120.2102.09180.
