Re:
Local Law Intro 15 of 2022
Local Law Intro 15 of 2022 has been drafted to delete Chapter 197-9 of the Village Code, which specifically
addresses street trees. This specific section of Chapter 197 was last updated in 1990. In 2006, the Village Board
of Trustees adopted Local Law 6 of 2006, which created Chapter 208 of the Village Code, Trees. Sections 1
through 13 of Chapter 208 deal with street trees and is much more comprehensive than Chapter 197-9.
No change to existing practice is being proposed with this local law. This is simply a housekeeping change to
ensure the accuracy of the Village Code.
It is my recommendation that the Board schedule the public hearing on Local Law Intro 15 this evening. Please
let me know if you have any questions.
