To: From: CC: Date: August 12, 2026 Re: Loader Mounted Snow Blower- Bid # 10-2026 During this past budgeting session, the Department of Public Works requested funding for a loader mounted snow blower. This piece of equipment was requested to assist with snow removal in the business districts during the winter months. A loader mounted snow blower is more powerful than a standard snow blower, and can move more snow in a shorter amount of time. It will also send snow directly into a dump truck, which can save time by removing a step in our current process. On July 30th, 2026, the Village of Croton-on-Hudson advertised for invitations to bid on the Loader Mounted Snow Blower bid (Bid # 10-2026). On August 11, 2026, a total of four bids were received and publicly read. The following results were returned: Bid Results: Bidder Bid Amount 1. Sawtooth Industrial $ 70,750.00 2. FDR Hitches $ 62,599.00 3. CN Wood Equipment $82,472.00 4. Tracey Road $ 72,825.00 Three of the four bids returned specified the same manufacturer and model number. Sawtooth Industrial delivered a bid for their own manufactured equipment, with two different options available. The lower costing option is shown in the table above. We have contacted FDR Hitches regarding the proposal, and they are confident that they can supply the snow blower specified in our bid documents before the due date mentioned in bid. I recommend approving FDR Hitches’ proposal for the Loader Mounted Snow Blower in the amount of $62,599.00. Funding for this contract is included in the 2026-2027 Capital Budget H5110.2010.27566.
