Superintendent for Business Re: Recommendation for Bid Award District-Wide Capital Improvements Phase 2 SED Project Number: 66-02-02-03-0-002-032 KG+D Architects is in receipt of the bids for the above-referenced project and recommends the District move forward with award of Contracts 1 (single-prime). To assist the District with determination of the lowest responsible bidder, KG+D Architects has performed the following services and tasks for the apparent low bidder for this project: • Administrative review of contractor bid submissions to confirm required bid documents have been furnished and completed by the contractor. • Compared apparent low-bid amounts to the estimated contract values. • Reviewed post-bid information and contractor qualifications included in the bid submission. • Participated in ‘scope review’ meeting with the apparent low bidders to review the technical scope of work. Based on KG+D Architects’ review of the bidders as outlined above, we see no reason to deem the apparent low- bidder non-responsible. At this time, we recommend award of the Base Bid, which includes adding air conditioning to the second floor of Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School. Additional alternates may be recommended in the future, pending availability of remaining funds. The apparent low bidder is as follows: # Contract Contractor Base Bid (2nd Fl. Classroom AC) 1 Single Prime Clean Air Quality Services, Inc. $584,230 KG+D Architects’ review of bidder qualifications and responsibility is limited to the information furnished by the bidder. Our review does not include supplemental investigation or assessment of the following: • Information regarding past and current projects not furnished by the bidder. • Financial standing and capacity of the bidder beyond acknowledgment of surety-backed bonds. • Current and future project obligations of the bidder not furnished by the bidder. • Undisclosed legal proceedings, history, claims, defaults, terminations, or the like. • Past relationships with other business entities including undisclosed ‘dba’s.’ We are pleased to report a successful bid phase and look forward to commencing construction.
