To say the least, I had enough of German banquets on that trip to be sufficient for a lifetime. At the close of the official German trip I visited a friend who was chief engineer of the Italian Westinghouse Company near Genoa, and then spent a month investigating harbor facilities, water front freight terminals, etc., of most of the main continental and English seaports.
