Publication permissions
We celebrate local achievements while respecting families' choices. Children are not named or pictured in our sports coverage without a parent or legal guardian's explicit permission.
When an editor has verified an achievement and the adult contact, we can send a private invitation to review the proposed coverage and sign a permission document online. Permission to use a name and permission to use a specific photograph are separate choices. Neither is selected for you.
You can approve anonymous coverage, approve a name with or without a photograph, or decline. Signing does not guarantee publication. An editor checks the evidence and permissions before anything goes live.
Your contact information and signed record stay private. You receive a copy, and can save or print the online record. You may withdraw permission through your private link or by writing to editor@croton.news. Paper permission is available through the same address.
This process is for adults. Please do not have a child complete it or send us a child's contact details.
