Caller stated that, while he was in Shoprite, he was walking down one of the aisles and said to an older white male "Hey, nice mustache.” The caller stated the older man threatened him and followed him around the store. No further police action needed.
Dog Complaint

Caller stated there was a “large, scary-looking dog” in his backyard and he believed it belongs to a neighbor. Patrols were dispatched and spoke to the neighbor, who collected the dog.
Property Lost
4/20/2026 3:16am · Grand Street
Caller reported she lost her phone at a casino earlier. She tracked it and it showed the current location at a home on Grand Street. Patrols responded to the building while speaking to the caller and retrieved the phone. He stated that the casino bartender gave him the phone and he thought it was his phone.

Patrol reported coming upon a vehicle that appeared to have been involved in an accident. Patrol reported the driver stated a turkey flew into his windshield. Patrol requested EMS for evaluation of driver. 60 Control was notified. Patrols reported the turkey scurried off. Report was filed.

Caller reported a man sleeping in his car at the entrance of Van Cortlandt Manor. Caller called back to report the car left. No police action was needed.

Caller reported a male walking on the street wearing pajamas and talking to himself. Patrol responded and spoke with the male who did not need any assistance.
Erratic Driver
4/23/2026 7:46pm · Brook Street
Caller reported that a black Dodge Charger, with a police light and lights flashing, drove through a crosswalk with people walking in it. Caller believed it to be a Croton Police car but did not see any identifying markings on the vehicle. Patrol was contacted and stated they were not in that area recently. Patrol stated they saw a vehicle matching that description parked unoccupied on Brook Street. Patrol took the information for blotter only.

Caller reported a man was trying to break a neighbor’s doorknob off with a hammer. Patrol responded and spoke with the man who worked for a company hired to repair a leak. The homeowner was contacted and stated that she did not leave a key and was aware of the maintenance. No further police action needed.

Caller stated that she parked in the lot at the end of Brook Street to go for a walk. When she returned to the vehicle, someone had written on the windshield with paint marker, "don’t park here or you will get towed.” Caller was able to wash it off. Patrol spoke with the lot owner who was not involved.

MTA Police requested assistance in the parking lot of the train station. MTA reported chasing a male who brandished a switch blade. Patrol was dispatched and was advised to proceed in with caution. Patrol reported EMS was on scene and the scene was turned over to MTA Police.

An officer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement called to report that they placed a resident into custody earlier this morning without incident. The Croton Police Department was not involved nor aware of the agency’s presence in the Village. Blotter only at this time.
Property Recovered

Croton PD participated in the DEA Drug Take Back Day. The Detective Division received approximately 146 pounds of assorted prescription medications. All boxes were turned over to DEA for destruction.
