WHEREAS the Village Board of Trustees has received a special permit application from Sprocket Power of Bedford Hills, New York, proposing the installation of an integrated energy system at Croton Auto Park, located at 1 Municipal Place, comprising a battery energy storage system with a 280-kWh output, and WHEREAS Tier 2 Battery Energy Storage Systems are permitted through the issuance of a special permit by the Village Board of Trustees within the C- 2 zoning district, and WHEREAS this action is a Type II action under the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act, which does not require an environmental review, and WHEREAS on July 17, 2024, the Village Board referred the special permit application to the Planning Board for a recommendation, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Board of Trustees hereby grants the special pennit to Sprocket Power for the installation of an integrated energy system at Croton Auto Park. 1 Municipal Place, subject to the following conditions: 1. That site plan approval for the Tier 2 Battery Energy Storage System shall be obtained from the Planning Board; 2. That a building permit shall be obtained prior to any construction on the Tier 2 Battery Energy Storage System.
