Hi Karen,
| hope you are well!
| recently asked Environmental & Turf Services inc. (ETS) to review and evaluate a list of new pesticides that | would like
to incorporate into the HN pesticide program. | have also identified older pesticides for removal. The requested
products have a much-improved safety profile compared to older products.
As you are aware, HN recently finished a restoration project. The new grasses seeded will allow for a significant
reduction in pesticides used from advanced resistance to turf diseases. It is critical that HN has the tools needed to
prevent inferior grasses and weeds like, poa annua from infiltrating playing surfaces. Maintaining a mono-stand of
bentgrass on greens, tees, and fairways will allow HN to realize the reduction of pesticides and water use benefit. When
necessary, spot spraying pesticides will be the preferred application method to remove undesirable weeds like poa-
annua.
Attached you will see a letter from ETS with evaluation data from requested products. ETS is hired by the village to
provide oversight and adherence to the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) in place at HN.
As stated in the EMP, any changes to the EMP will need approval by the Planning Board. The planning board will review
this request on Tuesday, April 1st at 8:00pm. | am happy to answer any questions you may have. Thank you, Brett
Scales Golf Course Superintendent Hudson National Golf Club

Hi Dan
Please find attached our letter report regarding a request to update the pesticide use list from Brett.
We recommend that all of the new products requested be approved for use and that the products recommended to be
discontinued be deleted from the use list.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
Stuart is currently reviewing the 2024 annual report and we hope to submit that report next week.
thank you
