The History of the Several Towns, Manors, and Patents of the County of Westchester (1881 revised edition, Vol. I)
Palmer and wife, nobly offered to build a new house of worship and present it unincumbered to the Society. This generous offer was gladly accepted, and on June 29, 187 1, the corner stone of the new edifice was laid by Mr. Palmer, the donor, on the lot next to the parsonage. It was dedicated 15th of August, 1S72. The new church is a fine gothic edifice of wood, with two towers in front and lecture room in the rear, costing $50,000. It contains a good toned bell and organ.
