HISTORY OF THE COUNTY OF WESTCHESTER.

The Royal Charter granted in 1762 was exemplified by his Excellency George Clinton, in 1793, after the following manner:

CHARTER OF TRINITY CHURCH.

" The people of the State of New York, by the grace of God free and independent: To all whom these presents shall come, greeting. Know ye, that we having inspected the records remaining in our secretary's office, do rind there recorded certain letters patent in the words and figures following, to wit: George the Third, by the grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth. To all to whom these presents shall come, greeting.
