The Recreation and Parks Department Quarterly Report - March, April & May 2024 Mission Statement The mission of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson Recreation Department is to create and maintain aesthetically pleasing, safe, healthful, and enjoyable areas for residents. We aim to provide positive, cost-effective leisure opportunities that promote individual and community wellness for children, youth, adults, and seniors, while also promoting the preservation and appropriate utilization of the Village’s recreational resources. Quarterly Highlights The Recreation Department provides and plans for year-round classes, programs, and special events. Highlights for this quarter include: • Held 34 classes/programs and special events. • Hosted a successful Spring Celebration with approximately 150+ attendees. • Introduced five new classes: Introduction to Bocce, Botanical Printmaking, Watercolor, Vinyasa Yoga, and Mat Pilates. • Organized a successful senior charter bus trip to the New York Botanical Gardens. • Canoe/Kayak racks at Echo Canoe launch were once again sold out.
