Quarterly Report PUBLIC WORKS QUARTERLY REPORT Fiscal Year 2023/2024 Fourth Quarter: March 1, 2024 – May 31, 2024 Highway • Installation of one new sidewalk in the Upper Village • Swept 160 miles of roadway • Started the yard waste removal program throughout the Village • Installed Veterans banners throughout the Village • Removed and replaced banners for various Village events • Installed summer banners and American flags throughout the Village • Cleaned out 64 catch basins • Repaired 5 catch basins • Weekly asphalt maintenance (potholes and water patches) • Trimmed approximately 30 trees • Removed 10 trees (including grinding leftover stumps) • Planted 4 trees during Arbor Day • Clean up of Village parks and riverfront during Earth Day • Prepared the upper village and organized the vendors for Summerfest • Train Station parking lot plantings • Installed pavers at the intersection of Mount Airy Road and Grand Street • Smoke testing in the sanitary sewer system connected to Nordica Pump Station Sanitation: • Collected approximately 590 tons of refuse • Weekly collection of Village co-mingled, paper and metal recycling • Collected approximately 215 tons of organic yard waste Building Maintenance: • Started renovations at Silver Lake. • Finished courtroom renovations • Renovated Washington Engine offices, and installed HAZMAT shower • Started the annual crosswalk and stop bar striping program throughout the Village Water Department: • Responded to 215 code 53 mark outs • Submission of monthly reports to Westchester County • Performed hydrant flushing throughout the Village • Preparation of Village water and sprinkler systems for seasonal use • Continued service line inventory • Performed all required sampling of the Village’s water system • Meter reading throughout the Village • Assisted with the 2023 Annual Water Quality Report • Repaired 6 water leaks on the Village system • Replaced broken meters Department of Public Works Quarterly Report Parks Department: • Litter removal in Village parks and fields • Prepared Village Fields and parks for seasonal use • Assist with DPW day-to-day operations (yard waste, spring field prep, garbage, etc.) Repair Facility: • Maintenance of Vehicle fleet during winter operations • Assist with preparing outdoor equipment for Spring/Summer season • Assisted with posting DPW vehicles/equipment for public auction • Weekly inspection and maintenance of all police vehicles • Assist Fire Department with vehicle maintenance and repair Capital Projects: • Prepared submissions for Cleveland Resurfacing grant • Continued working on the design phase of the Harmon Firehouse addition • Continued design for the Gouvea Park improvements • Working with design Engineer to finalize the Half Moon Bay Bridge rehabilitation project • Continued working on the Grand Street floor rehabilitation project • Completed the Nordica Pump Station rehabilitation project. • Preparing specifications for the demo of the old DPW garage
