On the 8th of January, 1752, John Bowton of the East Patent, granted a tract of land, consisting of eighty acres, to Benjamin Rockwell, for the sum of ^249.
It is quite clear from the wording of the East Patent to Hawley and company, that it commenced at the monument where the two lines intersect (or, the angle is formed) at the eastern end of the twenty miles from Cortlandt Point, on the Hudson River, near the south side of hong Pond on the land and so ran north nearly 52 miles towards Massachua All).
