for ever as Tenants in common and not as Jointtenants, and whereas seven thousand acres of the above Tract of land is supposed to be now in the Possession of the Inhabitants of Bedford New Purchase, and the parties to these Presents of the second part have heretofore purchased the Rights, of John Cholwell and Robert Waters, and one half of the Rights of Richard Slater, three of the Patentees named in the said Letters Patent supposed to contain Eight Thousand acres more of some of the other Patentees, or others claiming under them four thousand seven hundred acres more; Now therefore, the said Abraham De Peystcr, Elizabeth Hamilton, Isaac De Peyster, for himself and Ann, his wife, and Peter De Peyster, for themselves generally and not jointly, nor one for the other and for their respective Heirs, their respective parts, shares and proportions above particularly recited of and in the remaining Part of the said Tract of Land and Premises above mentioned, supposed to contain about twelve thousand three hundred acres, be it more or less against them the said parties of the first part and their Heirs and against all and every other Person and Persons whomsoever claiming by from or under them, or any or either of them respectively, or under the said Cornelius De Peyster the Patentee to the said parties of the second part and to their respective Heirs and Assigns for ever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
