VAN CORTLANDT, Pierre Jr. Pierre Van Cortlandt Jr., was a son of Pierre Van Cortlandt (1721-1819), who served as Lieutenant Governor of New York from 1777 to 1795, and Joanna Livingston (1722-1808). His brother Philip Van Cortlandt (1749-1831) served in the Continental Army and ended the war as a brevet brigadier general.
