Garret's surname was actually Garrison. He is listed as a 90-year-old farmer in the Town or Yonkers, New York, in the 1850 United States Census. GEDNEY, Prince

Prince Gedney was enslaved by Absalom Gedney during the Revolutionary War. During his interview, he told John Macdonald that he would turn 90 years old on December 16, 1848, and 92 years old on December 16, 1850. He is listed as a 96-year-old farmer in the Town of White Plains, New York, in the 1850 United States Census. His obituary in the Westchester Herald on December 26, 1855, indicates that he died at the age of 97.
