Holmes," a 54-year-old farmer in the Town or Greenburgh, New York, in the 1850 United States Census. His death notice in The New York Times indicates that he died on October 31, 1881, aged 85 years (The New York Times, November 2, 1881).

HOLMES, Patty

John Macdonald indicated that Patty Holmes was 94 years at the time of her interview on November 2, 1848. She is listed as a 95-year-old resident of the Town of Bedford, New York, in the 1850 United States Census.

HOPKINS, James

John Macdonald indicated that James Hopkins was 82 years old at the time of his interview on October 27, 1848. His tombstone in the North Castle-Quaker Cemetery in North Castle, New York, indicates that he died on August 29, 1859, aged 91 years and 10 months, and 19 days (WCHS Book #20, p.1).

HORTON, Frances

John Macdonald indicated that Frances Coutant Horton was "about 79" years old at the time of her interview on November 11, 1846. She is listed as an 80-year-old resident of the Town of New Rochelle, New York, in the 1850 United States Census.

HORTON, John

John Horton is listed as a 70-year-old farmer in the Town of White Plains, New York, in the 1850 United States Census. His tombstone in the Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery in White Plains indicates that he died on September 13, 1854, aged 74 years, 6 months, and 17 days (WCHS Book 17, p.29). The tombstone no longer exists, as the remains in the Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery were moved to a plot at the White Plains Rural Cemetery in White Plains.
