MILLER, Margaret Margaret Horton Miller was a daughter of Caleb Paulding Horton and was the wife of interviewee Robert Miller. Her tombstone in White Plains Rural Cemetery in White Plains, New York, indicates that she died on November 3, 1849, aged 90 years, 1 month, and 12 days (WCHS Book #38, p.87).

MILLER, Robert Robert Miller was the husband of interviewee Margaret Miller. A petition for probate was filed with the Westchester County Surrogate's Court on March 31, 1848 (Westchester County Wills Liber 30, p.479).

MILLER, Sylvanus Sylvanus Miller is listed as a 78-year-old resident of the 15th Ward of New York City in the 1850 United States Census.

MILLS, Jonathan John Macdonald indicated that Jonathan Mills was 83 years old at the time of his interview on October 31, 1846. His tombstone in the Old Burying Ground in Bedford, New York, indicates that he died on July 23, 1848, aged 83 years, 8 months, and 20 days (WCHS Book #17, p.107).

MONTROSS, Barnardus All legal documents filed with Westchester County indicate that Montross's first name was Barnardus, not Bernardus. He was a son of interviewee Nathaniel Montross. Montross was a general officer in the New York State Militia and is usually referred to by that rank by John Macdonald. He is listed as a 56-year-old resident of the Town of Yorktown, New York, in the 1850 United States Census. His tombstone in East-Yard Cemetery in Yorktown indicates that he died on July 2, 1883, aged 89 years.
