SUTTON, James John Macdonald indicated that James Sutton was 82 years old at the time of his interview on November 17, 1847. His tombstone in the Gnarlich Family Burial Ground in Mount Kisco, New York, indicates that he died on January 6, 1849, aged 88 years, 7 months, and 23 days (WCHS Book #2, p. 131).

TALLMADGE, Henry F. Henry Floyd Tallmadge was a son of Benjamin Tallmadge (1754-1835), who served as a major in the 2nd Continental Light Dragoons and led the Culper Spy Ring during the Revolutionary War. Henry was born on June 11, 1787, and died on July 8, 1853. See Arthur White Tallmadge, The Talmadge, Tallmadge and Talmage Genealogy (New York: The Grafton Press, 1909), p. 146.

THEALL, William William Theall is likely Billia Theall, who is listed as an 81-year-old farmer in the Town of Rye, New York, in the 1850 United States Census. His tombstone in Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye indicates that he died on October 15, 1858, aged 89 years, 3 months, and 18 days (WCHS Book #15, p. 40).

TOFFEY, Esther Mrs. Toffey is likely Esther Toffey, who is listed as an 87-year-old resident of the Town of New Rochelle, New York, in the 1850 United States Census. Her tombstone in Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery in New Rochelle indicates that she died on June 6, 1853, aged 90 years and 14 days (WCHS Book #18, p. 30).
