TOFFEY, Esther Mrs. Toffey is likely Esther Toffey, who is listed as an 87-year-old resident of the Town of New Rochelle, New York, in the 1850 United States Census. Her tombstone in Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery in New Rochelle indicates that she died on June 6, 1853, aged 90 years and 14 days (WCHS Book #18, p. 30).

TOMPKINS, Caleb Caleb Tompkins was the son of Jonathan G. Tompkins and Sarah Ann Hyatt. His elder brother Daniel D. Tompkins served as Governor of New York from 1807 to 1817 and Vice President of the United States from 1817 to 1825. Caleb himself was elected to the New York State Assembly, served two terms in the United States House of Representatives, and held the position of Westchester County Judge from 1807 to 1820 and 1823 to 1846. TOMPKINS, Charity Charity Purdy Tompkins was the wife of interviewee Washington Tompkins.
